Reviews and Ratings
The hotel offers comfortable rooms and good bar and dining areas, although some areas could have been cleaner. The proximity to the reception is convenient.
The hotel offers a $200+ resort experience at $300 a night but falls short on room maintenance issues, like falling curtains. Basic amenities like tea, milk, and coffee are provided. The service seemed to lack enthusiasm in promoting offerings, with room for improvement in interaction with guests. The location is good for park walks and accessing popular trails, though not quite resort-level. The dining experience was a disaster, despite good food, due to lack of communication about breakfast locations. The hotel needs to enhance its people skills to align with the prices charged.
The hotel is set in a fabulous location with stunning views of the trees and ample sunlight pouring in through the floor-to-ceiling windows. The rooms were spotless, tidy, and had everything we needed. However, the service could be hit or miss with most staff falling short, except for one dedicated cleaner. The location is unbeatable, situated on the outer edge of Wilpena Pound offering a breathtaking outlook and immediate access to hiking trails. The dining experience, although tasty, had some delays in food preparation. Overall, a great place to stay with minor service hiccups.
The hotel offers comfortable rooms with a medium-sized fridge and kitchen, providing a quiet and private setting in the wilderness. While feeling a bit aged, the location is perfect for exploring the region, with great walking opportunities. Service was excellent, quickly resolving any small issues, but the dining options could be more varied. Overall, a good value for money stay.
The hotel offers a typical motel-type room that could be improved with some minor adjustments, featuring indoor and outdoor dining sets for a cozy wine experience. The service is friendly and goes beyond expectations, including sharing cultural information and providing opportunities for Indigenous youth. The location provides a nice base to explore Flinders Range but has room for enhancement. The dining experience is good overall, with the exception of cold service on occasion. The facilities meet expectations and the setting offers great views of the Wilpena Pound Ranges.
The hotel had everything required in the rooms, which were comfortable and fairly clean but need maintenance. The service was friendly overall, though some improvements on people skills are needed. The location was great for exploring the Flinders Range and Wilpena Pound. The dining experience was pleasant with a full buffet breakfast, though slightly expensive. The facilities were good.
The hotel rooms were very private and comfortable, equipped with heating for cosy winter evenings, although they are desperately in need of a major refurbishment. The Heyson Suites were a generous size and conveniently close to the dining room and bar.
